As a courtesy to our patients, Digestive Health Specialists, P.A. files claims with most types of insurance plans. We will need you to provide us with the proper insurance identification cards and notify us of any changes in your insurance. All co-pays or deductibles are due at the time of service. Payment can be made with cash, check, or credit card. Also, please be aware that your insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company. You are financially responsible to Digestive Health Specialists, P.A. for non-payment of fees not covered by your insurance plan.
We recognize that medical expenses can cause an unexpected strain on your finances. In these circumstances, we will be happy to arrange budget payments.

There are many different types of health insurance coverage. Your responsibilities as a patient depend on the contract between you and your insurance company and whether or not Digestive Health Specialists, P.A. has a contract with your insurance company. Digestive Health Specialists, P.A. has contracts with many, but not all insurance companies. Please check your provider manual to make sure our physicians are included. Please call billing with any questions regarding your insurance.
The majority of insurance plans today require the patient to pay co-pays for office visits. The co-pay amount is listed on your insurance card. The co-pay is part of the contract between the insurance company, the doctor, and the patient. The doctor is required by the insurance company to collect the co-pay from the patient. Digestive Health Specialists, P.A. therefore, requires payment of your co-pay at the time of your visit.
If for any reason your co-pay is not paid at the time of service, we will bill you a for the co-pay amount and a $5.00 billing fee will be added to your account.
If Digestive Health Specialists, P.A. has a contract with your insurer, we will file your insurance claim on your behalf. If you provide us with your correct insurance policy information and any needed referral forms, we will file, as a courtesy to you, up to two separate insurance claim forms free of charge for each service you receive. A $15.00 fee will be charged for each additional claim form you ask us to submit on your behalf. Even though we may submit insurance claims for you, your insurance coverage is a contract between you and your insurer and you are still responsible for payment of services regardless of the amount your insurance pays. If your insurance carrier does not reimburse us for service provided within 30 days, then we will send you a bill which will be your responsibility to pay.
