Todd Pittman Named 2024 Administrator of the Year by NCMGMA
Todd Pittman, CMPE, the CEO of Digestive Health Specialists, was named the 2024 Administrator of the Year. The award was presented during the North Carolina Medical Group Management Association (NCMGMA) Annual Conference reception, held Thursday, May 16th, at the Wilmington Convention Center.
The Administrator of the Year award honors a medical practice administrator who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and management proficiency, and who has helped enhance the effectiveness of healthcare delivery in North Carolina. Sponsored by Curi, the Administrator of the Year Award also provides the recipient with a stipend for continuing education at a state or national Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) meeting.
Todd joined Digestive Health Specialists in Winston-Salem, post-COVID, and at that time, the practice had been without a CEO for six months. Dr. David Ramsay, MD, remarked, “Our initial hope was he would be able to bring us back to where we were before our previous CEO departed, but he exceeded our expectations by not only reimagining our organizational structure but also improving our finances and strengthening our morale.”
Todd Pittman has been in practice management for over 30 years and has been a member of NCMGMA for 27. He has held several leadership positions within the organization, including member at large (2000-2003) and association president (2002-2004). Todd currently serves as conference committee chair, a position he has held since 1999.
Courtney Bain, Chief Administrative Officer at Digestive Health Specialists, shared, “I have worked with Todd for a little over three years and I can truthfully say I’ve never had a better boss.”
Over 200 people attended the NCMGMA Annual Conference in Wilmington, held May 15-17. Among this year’s speakers were Internet celebrity Judson Liapply and Emmy award-winning journalist Sharon Delaney McCloud. The event also showcased healthcare practice management’s leading products and services in the sold-out exhibit hall.
