About Tilak Baba, MD

Dr. Baba was born in India and moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, at an early age. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for his Bachelor of Science degree. He obtained a Master’s in Public Health (M.P.H) from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Baba attended St. George University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, and graduated in 2013. He subsequently completed his Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. He finished a 4th-year fellowship in Transplant Hepatology at Georgetown University Hospital in 2021. He has been in practice since then.

Dr. Baba’s clinical interests include liver diseases such as cirrhosis, hepatitis, etc. He sees patients with various gastrointestinal disorders, including inflammatory bowel disease, reflux, pancreatic disorders, and colon cancer prevention and detection. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Transplant Hepatology.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing, hiking, traveling, and trying every coffee shop in the area.
