About Neal Sharma, MD
Dr. Neal Sharma was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He received his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University. He subsequently completed internal medicine residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Following his residency, he moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, to pursue a transplant hepatology fellowship. He went on to become an attending at the University of Missouri as the clinical instructor of hepatology. It was during these two years that he also obtained his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Missouri. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Missouri in 2024.
Dr. Sharma’s interests include general gastroenterology, with a special interest in endoscopy, as well as liver disease. He also is passionate about medical administration and improving healthcare outcomes for all patients. He was recently selected to be a committee member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is excited to return to North Carolina to join Digestive Health Specialists. Outside work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and young son.
