About Murat Akdamar, MD

Digestive Health Specialists welcomes Dr. Murat Akdamar to our outstanding lineup of providers. He has a wide variety of GI interests and skills with previous experience in both hospital and office settings. Our growing practice is excited about the addition of Dr. Akdamar to Digestive Health Specialists.

He received his medical degree from the Tulane University of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana where he was born and raised. He completed both his Residency and Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and has been practicing in Birmingham since 2006. He enjoys all general Gastroenterology, with an emphasis on the prevention of liver and pancreaticobiliary disorders.
