About Frank Senatore, MD

Digestive Health Specialists welcomes Dr. Senatore who was born and raised in New Jersey. Having come from a large family, he attributes his care and dedication for his patients to his family values and upbringing. He places patient values first and communicates in a simple way so his patients feel comfortable.

He earned his BS from the College of New Jersey where he minored in Spanish and graduated summa cum laude from Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine where he was awarded Intern of the Year, the Maxwell O. Phelps MD Scholarship, and was chosen as the chief medical resident.

His fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology was completed at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he also completed a fellowship in Advanced Inflammatory Bowel Disease. He was awarded a teaching fellow of the year, chief fellow, and an advanced hepatology traineeship in Spain. Dr. Senatore has over twenty publications in various scientific journals, authored five book chapters, and presented over thirty oral and poster presentations at national conferences.

Dr. Senatore focuses on a wide array of symptoms such as abdominal pain, change in bowel habits, weight loss, bloating, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, acid reflux, difficulty swallowing, and GI bleeding.

His clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) including ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), anorectal diseases including hemorrhoids, colon cancer screening, GERD, esophageal diseases, and liver diseases including fatty liver disease, cirrhosis, and hepatitis.
